Everyone's excited because Zarquawi may have finally bit it in Mosul, but I'm not holding my breath. Guys like him are slippery as snakes, and I wouldn't be suprised if he wasn't even in Iraq anymore. I mean, we obviously have no idea where he is. I wonder whose DNA they are going to use to compare with in order to identify the remains? His family in Jordan that just disowned him? Some secret CIA stash? Might seem like a small sticking point, but I'm curious.

Is there finally hope for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Peace in this region would do more to hurt the cause of Islamic fundamentalists than almost anything I can think of. Here's hoping Sharon has enough popular support to get it done.

And finally, I know that it's not nice to make fun, but this is just too tempting. I think that the photo pretty much sums up Bush's Asian excursion.

Welcome home Mr. Van Reet.

I figured I'd introduce myself, I'm one of your virtual neighbors. I've been dormant for about two months, but now I'm back on the Blogger.

Loved your picture from the Asian Summit.

Harmless fun. Being made fun of goes with the territory. If Bush istoo thin skined to laugh at himself, he should have stayed out of politics.

I am also in the military, and I have served in Iraq. I don't agree with many of your assesments and opinions, but you have your opinioins and, as an American, the right to have them.

Personally I think you're bitter about some part of your military service and therefore don't like our current leader. I only wish to remind you that it isn't his fault you went to Iraq, you enlisted of your own freewill.

As President and Commander in Chief, George Bush is ultimately responsible for the Iraq war, and for you and I being sent there.

I enlisted, but I was under stop loss orders the entire time I was in Iraq. So whether my service there was voluntary or not is up for debate. And yes, I am a little bitter about that. I am also extremely proud of my service in Iraq.

I don't like our current leader because he is incompetent and his foreign policy is dangerous.

Thanks for serving, and for respecting my right to disagree.
